In Chinese culture, four plants represent the seasons: orchids represent spring, bamboo represents summer, chrysanthemums represent autumn, and the blooms of a plum tree are associated with winter.
Each piece in this series pairs the signature plant painted in oil with vintage Chinese advertisements and found objects, such as cookie fortunes and hongbao (red envelopes).
